About Harley
Harley, Sophia, Harley Cole and Teresa
Harley's parents,
Maria and Harley Brook
Harley is preceded by 3 generations of Harleys and his son marks the fifth in his lineage. His father, Harley John, was an electrical engineer and veteran of the US Air Force who never met a stranger in his life.
His mother, Maria, was an attorney herself and inspired Harley to dedicate himself to the law and making the world a better place. When he was just 14 years old, she passed away. Although losing her at such a young age was devasting, he was always reminded that she believed life is not what happens to you but rather how you react to it. With this inspiration in mind, Harley graduated from high school and received a full academic scholarship to the University of Florida where he graduated with high honors and an undergraduate degree in Political Science.
It was during his first summer of law school in 2000 that he met his wife, Teresa, while doing an internship at a multinational law firm in Brazil. Two years later they were engaged and on July 3 of 2003 they were married. Teresa is a longtime teacher, currently teaching at Canterbury School in Fort Myers. They have two children, Harley Cole, who is 17, and Sophia Marie, who is 16.
Harley Cole is a gifted student-athlete and intends to follow in his father’s footsteps by attending the University of Florida and becoming an attorney himself. Sophia is a talented actress and singer who also excels academically and is planning for a career in the arts or medicine.
Harley is truly a family man who carries immense pride for his wife and children in each of their own accomplishments. He also enjoys worshiping at the Lakeport Christian Church in Glades County, where he often says that he has “found his tribe”!
